Snorkeling

If you don't fancy diving, Master Divers will be happy to teach you to snorkel. Once you've learned the basics, we can take you to some stunning snorkel sites where you can practice your new skills.

Supervised Snorkeling

Never been snorkeling before? Perhaps you've been snorkeling, but you don't feel entirely comfortable with it?

Master Divers offers a half day snorkeling trip supervised by a divemaster or diving instructor. You will also receive guidance in snorkeling at one of Koh Tao's beautiful dive sites, including:

  • Choosing proper snorkeling equipment that fits you properly
  • Clearing water from your mask
  • Clearing water from your snorkel
  • Correct use of fins
  • Breath hold diving / skin diving
  • How to equalize, allowing you to dive much deeper
  • How to hold your breath for longer

After this, you'll be able to snorkel confidently and enjoy the marine life and environment without the snorkel equipment 'getting in the way'.

Snorkeling with Divers

If you're accompanying a diver but don't want to dive yourself, why not enjoy the boat trip to the dive site and snorkel with us, experiencing the dive site from a different perspective. It's absolutely free, and we'll provide you with all the equipment you need.

For safety reasons, unless you are a certified snorkeler or open water diver, you must have completed a half day supervised snorkeling session with us as a prerequisite.

You're most likely to see either Hawksbill turtles or Greenback turtles around Koh Tao, though other breeds occasionally stop by. This particular Hawksbill is a resident of these parts and is regularly seen at the Twin Peaks dive site feeding on corals.
Nudibranch means 'external lung'. These critters are found in various shapes, sizes and disguises all around Koh Tao, but without the benefit of your Divemaster's local knowledge, you'll probably never find one.
