Although this site has a wide variety of marine life, including various reef fish, angel fish, banner fish, and parrot fish amongst many others, the main reason most divers come to Laem Thien is for its incredible collection of caves, swim-throughs and canyons, made from a tumble of boulder rocks and ancient hard corals. The top of the pinnacle is at 5 metres, running down to a maximum depth of 16 metres.
Titan Trigger fish can be agressive when guarding their crater nests over the sand, but here they have just come to feed off clams around the rocks, and they will largely ignore you, but be careful not to bump heads with them in a swim through. Occasionally you'll see blue spotted whiptail rays or turtles, and it's one of the few places on the island to see the rare unicorn fish.
Laem Thien is suitable for all certified divers, but more experienced divers will make the most of the more challenging swim-throughs. This site is a lot of fun!
